Selecting your Motor Wiring

Select the motor that fits your system and electrical needs. Your electrical supply is either going be have single phase or three phase. Use the code below to select the correct motor code for your electrical supply.

example: 1/60/115-230V

First Number:

1= single phase

3= three phase

2nd Number: Your electrical outlet will work at different frequencies depending on where you are in the world.

50 = 50Hz frequency--common in Asian countries as well as most European nations

60 = 60Hz frequency--used in the U.S.A. and most western countries

3rd number: Voltage provided by your electrical supply.

110 - Single Phase Low Voltage at 50Hz

115 - Single Phase Low Voltage at 60Hz

220 - Single Phase High Voltage at 50Hz

230 - Single Phase High Voltage at 60Hz or Three Phase Low Voltage at 60Hz

380 - Three Phase High Voltage at 50Hz

460 - Three Phase High Voltage at 60Hz

575 - Three Phase High Voltage (Standard Industrial Voltage in Canada)

Please use the table below to select the correct number or letter to represent your motor wiring scheme. This letter is represented by the 10th character in the catalog number.

i.e. S14315BBD1F

Power Rating 3500 rpm 1750 rpm 2900 rpm
1/60/115-230V 1 A
1/60/230V 2 B
3/60/230-460V 3 C
3/60/460V 4 D
3/60/575V 5 E
1/50 or 1/60 (dual) V G V
3/50 or 3/60 (dual) S U S
Special X X X
1/50/110-220V     W
1/50/220V     Y
3/50/380V     Z

Example 1: If you had the following electrical supply:

60Hz / 460V (high voltage three phase) ,  3500 rpm motor from the pump curves.

Your motor code is a 3.

Example 2: If you had the following electrical supply:

50Hz / 220V (low voltage single phase) ,  2900 rpm motor from the pump curves.

Your motor code is a W.
