Open Impeller Pumps

Open impeller pumps are used in the following applications:

• Pumping liquid has particles that are larger than the passageway in an enclosed impeller.

• Shearing action in an open impeller can cut up soft particles.

• Open impeller pumps generally operate at a lower efficiency than an enclosed impeller.
